I am directed by the Board of Customs to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, with reference to the Foreign Enlistment Act of 1870, that it has been reported to them that a Certificate of Sale, for use at Hong Kong, Kobe or Yokohama, was issued on the 28th instant for the British Screw Steamer "Sobralense", empowering Mr. Donaldson Riddell Law of Hong Kong, Mr. William John Robinson of Kobe, and Mr. Montague Beart of Yokohama, jointly or severally to sell the vessel within 12 months from that date.

The present owners of this vessel are the Booth Steamship Company, Limited, of 30, James Street, Liverpool.
